[...] knittedgems placed an observative post today on London, the Long Version « Knitted Gems Designs & CraftsHere’s a quick excerptThey met Dan, Mike and I at the Tower of London. This was a lot of fun to tour! I was excited to see the Koh-i-Noor because of a story I had heard years earlier. Come to find out the story isn’t true, but it was beautiful all the same. … [...]

Looks like a wonderful trip. My husband's ideal trips always are anchored by trips to taste the local brews- lots of fun!

What a hysterical and enjoyable travel log! Thank you so much :)

First, you don't find scones in the bakeries because they are best hot and fresh and I'm so glad you went to the Tea Shop and found that out! I also love a good port wine and, in particular, in the Fall it's lovely after dinner.

Never knit socks! Well I never.

Glad you had a good time in my town. I'll clear things up on the scone front: you'll never get a blueberry scone in the UK. Scones are plain, fruit (which means raisins) or cheese, and that's it. Anything else is not a scone :)

The other reason Londoners don't talk to you is that they live in a town with a population of 7.5 million. When you add in the millions who commute in to work, and the hundreds of thousands of tourists, getting to work and home and play just takes so much effort and energy that there isn't much left over- it takes me an hour to get to my friend's house in West London for example. We're quite nice really.

So nice to see you made the most of the pubs and had a fry up. That's the way to see London.

Thank you for the travelogue! We went to London two summers ago, and it was grand. I loved the Tower and the Crown Jewels. I'm a magpie!
